William R. Gurtin
Member, Strategic Advisory Committee
William R. Gurtin is a Member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of NMS. Mr. Gurtin is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, Managing Partner, and founder of Gurtin Municipal Bond Management. He also serves as a member of the Executive and Chairman of the Investment Committee.
Prior to founding Gurtin Municipal Bond Management in February 2008, Mr. Gurtin was Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager of Fixed Income Investments for The Gurtin Group at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Gurtin’s fixed income management experience include ten years at Goldman Sachs and nine years at Morgan Stanley, where he managed high-grade fixed income portfolios exclusively for high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals. Upon his departure from Morgan Stanley in January 2008, his team was responsible for overseeing $5.2 billion in discretionary fixed income assets.
Mr. Gurtin earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the Booth Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University, graduating with honors.
Mr. Gurtin has served as a member of the Southern California Executive Committee for Brown University and as both a trustee and member of the Finance Committee of Francis Parker School Board in San Diego. He currently is a member of the Stanford University Parents’ Advisory Board in Palo Alto.
