Mill Valley, CA, March 7, 2017 – Constellation Behavioral Health (”Constellation” or “CBH”) announced today that San Diego, CA based Hanbleceya Recovery Network (“Hanbleceya”) has joined its network of behavioral healthcare programs.  Together with its current facilities Alta Mira in Sausalito, CA and Bridges to Recovery in Los Angeles, Constellation now has over 90 beds serving clients with specialized treatment programs for addiction, mental health and co-occurring behavioral health disorders.

Hanbleceya – a Sioux Indian word meaning “quest for vision” – was founded in 1979 and over the years has impacted the lives of thousands of clients and their families suffering from severe and complex mental illness. The Hanbleceya Recovery Network includes the Hanbleceya Treatment Center, a full continuum of care for the long term treatment of severe and complex mental illness as well as Helix Healing and Recovery, a treatment program providing shorter term care for higher functioning individuals suffering from trauma and mood disorders.

“We are excited to be adding the Hanbleceya Recovery Network to our platform of leading behavioral health facilities,” said Bill Morrison, CEO of Constellation Behavioral Health. “Hanbleceya has been a leader in long term treatment for severe and complex mental illness for the past four decades. We look forward to partnering with them to provide this critical category of care.”

Kerry Paulson, CEO, and Dr. Karlyn Pleasants, Executive Clinical Director, will remain in their positions at Hanbleceya Recovery Network. “We are excited to be partnering with Constellation Behavioral Health and look forward to collaborating with the Constellation team to expand our mental health treatment programs in Southern California and beyond,” said Kerry Paulson, CEO of Hanbleceya Recovery Network.

Dr. Karlyn Pleasants added “We are thrilled to be working with Constellation to collectively reach more individuals and families in need of experienced, clinically informed and compassionate care for their loved ones.”

The Hanbleceya Treatment Center model focuses on long-term and lasting change with a typical length of stay exceeding 12 months in a community-based setting, which seeks to assist each individual in developing the skills needed to take charge of their lives and reach the highest level of independence as possible. Specializing in diagnoses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, Hanbleceya provides compassionate care to a vastly underserved population.

Helix Healing and Recovery was established as an option within the Hanbleceya Recovery Network for individuals seeking shorter-range treatment options. Helix offers intensive, residential care for adults with trauma, mood disorders and other mental health recovery needs. Utilizing many aspects of the Hanbleceya treatment approach, this 6-bed facility is a serene, nurturing space for professionals and others who have already attained and mastered the independent living and socialization skills focused on at Hanbleceya yet are in search of concentrated therapeutic support for healing and recovery.
